Mitel launch of the Polycom SpectraLink 8020 and 8030 Wi-Fi Wireless Handsets and accessories in UK

It’s increasingly important to provide comprehensive solutions to businesses such as Healthcare, Manufacturing and Retail. Wireless telephony capabilities often become a critical day to day tool with these and many other industry types. With support for voice calls, messaging, integration with vertical applications and robust handsets, the SpectraLink 8020 and 8030 handsets provide a powerful tool for any buisness.

Improved customer service

Staff become accessible wherever they are and the use of overhead paging can be eliminated. The customer has a better chance of reaching the right person; the establishment becomes more responsive and the customer more satisfied with the experience.

Improved cost control

Workers are increasingly mobile in the workplace, however the option of widespread cellular phone usage can prove very costly. Deployment of a Wi-Fi voice capable solution in conjunction with Mitel Communications Director (MCD) enables the business to control and manage their mobile communication costs on the premise. Once the infrastructure is deployed, internal mobile calling is essentially free, with the added benefit that internal and external calls are subject to the same class of service privileges as the wired communication system.

Improved safety and security

Security of staff in traditional high risk environments (as well as in Healthcare, Education and Retail) is an increasing concern. The SpectraLink 8000 Wi-Fi system components integrated with Mitel Communications Director (MCD), enables staff to respond to a security breach and manage the situation in real-time to ensure the safety of colleagues, community and property.

Mitel releases Unified Communicator Advanced (UC Advanced) Release 3.2 & Virtual UC Advanced 3.2

Product Overview

UC Advanced is Mitel’s unified communications desktop application that enhances the user experience and the effectiveness of “in the moment” communications. It is a key component of the Mitel Unified Communicator portfolio and converges the call control capabilities of Mitel communications platforms with contact management, Dynamic Status, and collaboration applications, to simplify and enhance real-time communications.

UC Advanced provides a single access point for all your business communication and collaboration needs. It gives you unprecedented control over your communications and allows real-time access to everyone in the organization, on or off the premises, with user and phone presence information that makes every phone call or instant message (IM) count, and simple ways to manage your personal communications. Employees can find, communicate, and collaborate with others quickly, easily, and in the moment.

UC Advanced also integrates with leading business productivity tools such as Microsoft® Exchange, Microsoft Outlook®, and Microsoft Office, as well as IBM® Lotus Notes®.

The UC Advanced 3.2 release is also intended to deliver a seamless upgrade path from Mitel Unified Communicator® (UC) Express to UC Advanced. This has been done by introducing a fast and easy way to configure buttons on your Mitel IP Phone, as well as allowing UC Advanced to appear as a compact search bar that drastically reduces the amount of desktop space it takes up, while still allowing users to easily search for users inside the business and see their presence and availability status.
