Michelle, one of our team here at Ocean Telecom, completed the Alzheimer’s Society Trek 26 in the Peak District alongside her cousin — a 26-mile walk through some of the most beautiful but genuinely demanding terrain in England. The challenge was a personal one, taken on because both Michelle and her cousin have family members affected by the disease.
The route passed through stunning Peak District countryside, taking in Chatsworth Estate and some serious climbs along the way. They finished in 10 hours and 42 minutes, placing 258th overall, a time that tells its own story about what the day involved.
What makes it even more impressive is that Michelle’s JustGiving page was ranked in the top 10% of all fundraisers for the event, raising £1,264 for Alzheimer’s Society. Out of thousands of participants, that’s a remarkable achievement and a reflection of how much this cause means to everyone who supported her.
Alzheimer’s Society funds vital research into dementia and provides support for the hundreds of thousands of people and families across the UK living with it every day. Events like Trek 26 make a real and lasting difference to that work.
