It’s always an exciting time when Apple launch their new products, and this year we saw the introduction of the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and the iPhone XR.

But, what do these letters mean, what new features do they have, and what is the difference between the three?

All in all, they all feature new and improved specs and they do all share most of the same core features:

Apple’s A12 Bionic Processor

Up to 15% faster and 50% more efficient, all three phones will perform faster than any of the previous models.

12-Megapixel Main Camera and 7-Megapixel Selfie Camera

All devices use an all-new sensor which has larger pixels consequently improving their camera quality once again. As well as the upgraded selfie camera, the Face ID system is a lot quicker.

Better Stereo Audio Recording and Speakers

Every new model has 4 microphones to record during videos and improved speakers with wider stereo playback.

There are obviously some differences though which include:

Internal Storage

The iPhone XS and XS Max have the options of 64GB, 256GB and 512GB; the iPhone XR has the options of 64GB, 128GB and 256GB.

Colours and Material

The iPhone XS and XS Max have a stainless steel body with a glass back and front, and have the colour options of gold, silver or space grey. The iPhone XR has an aluminium body with a glass back and front, and has the colour options of blue, coral, yellow, white, black and red.

Screen Size and Display

The iPhone XS Mas has the biggest screen, as suggested by its name, with a 6.5-inch OLED display with Super Retina pixel density of 458ppi. The iPhone XS has the smallest screen at 5.8-inches but still has an OLED display with the same Super Retina. Although the iPhone XR has a bigger screen at 6.1-inches, it uses an LCD display and Liquid Retina Display pixel density of 326ppi.

Price

Finally, the price range is the biggest difference between the three new iPhones:

iPhone XR – £749 (64GB), £799 (128GB) and £899 (256GB)

iPhone XS – £999 (64GB), £1149 (256GB) and £1349 (512GB)
